Victoria Public Market At The Hudson Grand Opening

The much-anticipated Victoria Public Market at the Hudson had its grand opening in September to crowds beyond anyone’s expectation. Thousands of people poured into the building to fill their shopping baskets, watch cooking demos, and taste the local delicacies on offer.

Feeding Frenzy

Robyn Laroque, owner of Victoria Pie Co., says she sold out of every item they produced that weekend. Other permanent vendors that were just as busy feeding the hungry crowds included Salt Spring Island Cheese, Roast, Silk Road Tea, Vij’s Sutra, Island Spice Trade, and The French Oven. There was also an array of day tables featuring produce from local farms. Since that grand opening, additional vendors have set up shop: La Cocina de Mama Oli, Damn Fine Cakes, and Cowichan Bay Seafood. A butcher is on its way and The Grocer at The Hudson will soon open its doors, conveniently stocking the basics like milk, eggs, pasta, produce, and even toothbrushes. Soon Victoria Public Market at the Hudson will be your one-stop shop for everything from gourmet lunches to pantry essentials to special occasion indulgences.
